Podcasts I produce and host

  • Massively Disabled

Welcome to the (post-)apocalypse, where long COVID has disabled the masses. Follow disabled philosopher of disability Élaina Gauthier-Mamaril as she explores the landscape of chronic care past and present to better imagine disabled futures. Disability communities are warning us that an age of enhanced eugenics is nigh; people are being told their symptoms are not real; official public health messaging is that the pandemic is over; treating people living with long COVID is far from straightforward. Let a philosopher lead the investigation, if you dare.

  • Philosophy Casting Call in grey letters on a blue background with a blue and red megaphone drawing on an orange hill on the bottom left.

    Philosophy Casting Call

Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates? Well, this is not about them! Philosophy Casting Call is where Élaina Gauthier-Mamaril, your friendly neighbourhood philosopher, interviews professors, grad students, and non-academics to find out what philosophy looks like now and try to shine a spotlight on thinkers, topics, and themes that are historically marginalised in academic philosophy. This includes women, LGBTQIA, disabled, and BIPOC people who are out there, getting their philosophy on, and who deserved to be cast as philosophers in our culture.

  • Bookshelf Remix in white and purple lettering on a black background above the logo of four white books stacked against each other.

    Bookshelf Remix

Have you ever read a book and wished you could linger in its world? Has an author ever dropped a reference that makes you want to look it up and fall into a research rabbit hole? In Bookshelf Remix, Sophia and Élaina, two “professional readers” get stuck into reading for fun and things get very nerdy. Drop in on their conversations and follow along as a Mexican-American and Filipina-Canadian discuss books (including spoilers!) by BIPOC, LGBTQ, disabled, and other historically marginalised authors and take a deep dive into themes they want to learn more about.

  • Women of Questionable Morals

Sariah and Élaina love Gilmore Girls in a "this show is part of my soul but also infuriates me” kind of way. But isn’t that just the GG way? This is a thematic podcast for the GG initiated, so we won't be going episode by episode.

From Al’s Pancake World to Zoltan Kemeny, we’ll be going through it all.
